Release Notes: 2026.03.01

New features & improvements

Approval workflow steps can now be skipped automatically

A new configuration option lets you mark individual approval workflow steps to be skipped automatically when no one is assigned to that role. This prevents approvals from stalling due to unfilled roles and keeps candidates moving through the process without manual intervention.

Pin jobs to the top of your Jobs Overview list

You can now pin jobs so they always appear at the top of the Jobs Overview page. Great for keeping high-priority or high-volume requisitions front and center without having to search or scroll.

Fill out evaluation forms directly from a candidate record

Users and hiring managers can now complete evaluation forms directly from the candidate record — no need to email the form to yourself first. Access can be permission-based, giving administrators control over who can use this feature.

Workflow trigger conditions

Workflow triggers now support conditions, so automated actions only fire when specific criteria are met — such as an AI match score threshold or a candidate's work authorization status. Multiple conditions can be set on a single trigger for more precise automation.

Delayed email triggers

When setting up email triggers in a workflow, you can now add a time delay before the email is sent. This brings trigger emails in line with the delay options already available on standard email send templates.

Opt-out language for AI review now customizable per company

Companies using AppFit AI review can now add their own custom opt-out language, giving organizations greater control over how the AI review disclosure is presented to candidates.

Surveys can now be targeted to hiring managers by job

Role-based manager surveys can now be targeted to the specific hiring managers tied to a Job ID. This makes it easier to collect structured recruiting satisfaction feedback from the right people at the right time.

Version 2 evaluation forms now supported in employee referrals

The newer evaluation form experience (v2) is now available within the employee referral workflow, bringing it up to parity with the standard hiring process.

Top grader question restored to surveys

The top grader question has been added back to survey forms following its prior removal.

Bug fixes

Harver assessment invite links no longer error for certain candidates

Fixed an issue where candidates invited to complete a Harver General Assessment would receive an error when clicking their invite link. This occurred in cases where a recruiter user ID was not properly associated with the assessment request.

Disabled user accounts now show the correct login message

Previously, users with a deactivated individual account were shown a message indicating the entire Hirebridge subscription was disabled — which was inaccurate and confusing. The message now correctly reflects that the specific account has been deactivated.

Skip first workflow step now works across all application sources

The option to skip the first workflow step for qualified candidates was previously only working for direct system applications. It now works correctly for candidates who apply via Indeed Apply, job boards, or who are copied into a requisition.

Security improvement: cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability resolved

A high-risk security vulnerability identified during a third-party security audit has been addressed across the full platform. This update extends a fix that was previously applied only to hiring pages, ensuring consistent protection site-wide.

Workflow triggers no longer fire incorrectly when hiring a candidate

Fixed a bug where hiring a candidate from within a workflow would incorrectly mark all workflow steps as completed and fire all associated triggers at once. Workflow steps and triggers now behave correctly when a hire action is taken.
