Tips for Effective Keyword Searching
- Must Contain: Use a `+` before keywords that must be included, e.g., `+spanish +fluent`.
- Must Not Contain: Use a `-` to exclude keywords, e.g., `-printer, -password`.
- Use “OR”: To search for profiles containing at least one of your keywords, e.g., `Harvard or Yale`.
- Exact Phrases: Enclose phrases in quotation marks for exact matches, e.g., `"Harvard University"`.
- Wildcard Searches: Use `*` for variations of a word, e.g., `print*` (includes prints, printer, printing, etc.).
- Combining Words: Construct queries with multiple terms, e.g., `"printer paper" -Lexmark`. There’s no need to use “and” as it's implied.
- Case Sensitivity: Searches are not case-sensitive, so `Lawyer` and `lawyer` yield the same results.
- Spelling Accuracy: Ensure correct spelling as there is no spell check in the search.
- Using Date Ranges: Narrow down candidates who applied within a specific period for more relevant results.
Additional Notes on Keyword Search
- Result Limit: Searches are capped at 1000 profiles. If exceeded, refine your search, particularly with Date Range, as the sorting and filtering options will be disabled.
- Boolean Compliance: The feature supports Boolean searches. A guide to forming Boolean queries is available on the Generator page.
- Search Duration: The time taken for keyword searches may vary based on the size of your candidate database and the complexity of your queries.
By following these steps and tips, you can efficiently navigate and utilize the Keyword Search feature to find the ideal candidates in your Hirebridge system.
